Volunteer for Adopt a Mile
October 16 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Make a difference with Adopt-a-Mile! West Smyrna has recently adopted a mile in Smyrna for quarterly cleanups of local roadways. Our mile is from Concord Lane to Reed Road (see map below). The road sign will not be up until early next year. Our first volunteer day is next SATURDAY 10/16 from 9-11am. We’ll just walk the mile & pick up trash with grabbers. The good news is that It’s residential so there isn’t a lot to pick up—will really be more of a group walk. High schoolers can get community service hours if needed (unless court ordered). All ages welcome!
Want to join? Contact Carrie Gildea text/call 404-735-2421 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for details. We’ll meet at the Orthodontist where Concord meets N.Cooper Lake.
Adopt-a-mile groups help:
- Pick up more than 4,000 pounds of litter each year,
- Prevent litter from entering local streams and rivers where it contaminates water sources and negatively affects wildlife,
- Build a sense of community and accountability among Smyrna residents, and
- Keep Smyrna clean, green, and beautiful!
Want to join? Contact Carrie Gildea text/call 404-735-2421 or email@example.com
Note: Volunteers must be 12 years or older, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Litter pickers, safety vests, and trash bags are provided by Keep Smyrna Beautiful.
